This is the setup to move gravel into the West foundation
area. Looks like the boom truck barely fit into the lower
drive area!

The boom and the compactor (small yellow vehicle)
are run by remote control so the operator can be
at a safe distance, but close enough to see what
is happening.

Compacted fill gives lateral support to piers that
hold foundation and structural walls for
the eastern half. There are four more steps:
the retaining wall for the 2nd Mechanical Room, a
concrete beam poured over the piers, more fill, and the
foundation walls poured over the beam. This should take us
to mid August.

Arched beams for the Great Room. The arched portion is 20'
across. The extended corbel on the right of the arch in the
foreground indicates this is the southern arch. This was
done for structural reasons.
